One stop shop will ease business registration - Zamboanga gov't

A LOCAL government official announced that the Business One Stop Shop (Boss) intended to ease business registration process will be in full swing starting on Tuesday, January 3.

Benjie Barredo, chief of the City Licensing Office, said the one stop shop will be housed at the Centro Latino Convention Center in Paseo del Mar.

Barredo said the one stop shop will be opened from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

The licensing office chief said his office and the other agencies involved in the processing of business have conducted a dry run last week to determine kinks and bottlenecks.

He said the BOSS will be based on the business permit and licensing system (BPLS) reform standards to further streamline the business registration and renewal process in compliance with the new set of service criterions in processing business permits and licensing as mandated under Executive Order 225-2016.

He said they expect to renew more than 9,000 business permits and issue some 2,000 new permits. The last day of filing is on January 20.

Earlier, Barredo said they will adopt the two-step process in the forthcoming business registration period to effectively reduce the processing time.

He said the renewal of business permit can be finished within two hours for renewal and at least within the day for new business application under the two-step process. (Sunnex)
