CATBALOGAN CITY, Samar — The Negosyo Centers in Catbalogan and Calbayog Cities have improved notches higher.
These now belong to Level B from Level C, said Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Meilou Macabare during the launching of the Catbalogan Negosyo Center housed at the second floor of the Tourism and Information Center of Catbalogan City, Monday, November 7.
“Negosyo Center B is now equipped with a conference room, four PCs (personal computers) with internet which the entrepreneurs can use to check their orders and find useful information to help them in their business,” said Macabare.
She added that the Negosyo Center in a nook at the city hall shall remain to be used by the elderly, persons with disabilities (PWDs) and pregnant women.
DTI was also scheduled to launch the new Level B Negosyo Center in Calbayog very soon.
The new Calbayog Negosyo Center is also equipped with better space for conferences and PCs that can help Calbayognons in business.
Despite the branching out of the Negosyo Centers in strategic cities and other growth centers in Samar, DTI on its own has also established a Business Resource Center that resembles the services offered in the Negosyo Centers.
The BRC housed at DTI Samar has modern equipments like PCs, printers, scanners, photocopiers, projectors that can be used by the micro, small and medium enterprises in the province.
Vice Mayor Art Gabon lauded DTI for helping the micro entrepreneurs that he said are the “backbone of the economy.” He urged the entrepreneurs to use modern ways of doing business to catch up with the times.
Samar Chamber of Commerce President Ariel Donceras also attended the soft launch and said he will invite his fellow businessmen to make use of the facilities of the new Business Resource Center. (PIA)
