LausGroup firm gets PRC accreditation for CPAs

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Laus Group Holdings Inc., a member of the Laus Group of Companies, has recently been accredited by the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Council of Accountancy of the Professional Regulation Commission as a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Provider for Certified Public Accountants (CPAs).

Alfie M. Adriano, LGC Chief Finance Officer, said this came about after the LausGroup satisfied and completed all the requirements for accreditation set forth by the Professional Regulation Commission in its resolution no. 1032, series of 2017.

The accreditation, he said, is in accordance with the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act 10912, otherwise known as CPD Act of 2016.

“With this accreditation as CPD Provider, all related seminars and training programs facilitated by the LausGroup may now be accredited as CPD programs so that all CPAs attending said seminars and/or training programs shall earn the required CPD credit units,” Adriano said.

According to Adriano, the PRC requires all CPAs to earn at least 120 CPD credit units within the compliance period of three years to be able to renew their PRC license and in line with the Philippine Accountancy Act’s objective of developing and nurturing competent, virtuous, productive and well-rounded professional accountants.

“The LausGroup embarked on this CPD Provider accreditation process as part of its many efforts in line with its continuing objective of actively contributing to the professional growth and development of its employees,” he said.

The Laus Group Holdings handles human resource development and training functions for the Laus Group, among others, Adriano said.

The LausGroup is considered the biggest multi-dealership network in the Philippines with some 60 auto dealerships from Metro Manila to Central and North Luzon carrying 11 major car brands. (NCS)
