CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Accountancy students of the University of the Assumption gathered for the Accountancy Seminar held at the Msgr. Ricardo Serrano Auditorium, recently.
Two speakers, who talked about communications and taxation, were invited.
Daphne R. Tadeo, a member of the School Press Advisers Movement, Linguistic Society of the Philippines, National Organization of Professional Teachers Incorporated, and Philippine Association for Teachers Education, discussed communication and language proficiency.
Various topics, such as written and body language, making conversations, and forms of communication, which are important for Accountancy majors, were imparted by Tadeo
Meanwhile, remedies and other updates in taxation were given by Ruben Morante, who is a certified public accountant.
Concepts of taxation, tax laws in the Philippines, and filing tax returns were tackled by Morante. He also included tips and latest data regarding tax laws, which will be included in the October 2017 CPA board exam.
According to Joyce Naria, a 4fourth year Accounting Technology student, “seminars like this are important, because we [Accountancy majors] learn a lot from it.”
“Topic like how to communicate properly and the recent update on taxation are vital in learning accountancy,” she added.
The Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants, a recognized student organization of the accountancy majors, spearheaded the event. (Rhovin Luke Maglaqui/UA Intern)
