PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) Chief Ronald Dela Rosa claimed on Monday the alleged plan of the New People's Army to "attack" the Davao before President Rodrigo Duterte's second State of the Nation Address (Sona).
“Meron lang kaming namonitor dun sa kabila, sa kaliwa, sa NPA that they will make some pre-Sona attacks, harassment sa Davao na-uncover ‘yan. Guguluhin nila yung Davao before Sona,” he said.
Aside from that, he said they have not monitored any threat directly related to Sona.
Dela Rosa then encouraged the public to cooperate with the authorities to ensure the peace and order in their communities.
“Our quest for peace is never ending. Kung ma-achieve natin ang peace talks mas maganda. Pero kung hindi sila sinsero, wala tayong magawa kung hindi sila sinsero. Giyera, ganon talaga. Hard realities in life,” he said. (SunStar Philippines)
