FORMER Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. was able to visit his sick father, Ramon Revilla Sr., before the latter's surgery on Monday.
The young Revilla took to his official Facebook page to share a photo of him with his father before the latter's medical procedure. He asked for the safety of his dad and guidance to all medical staff that performed the operation.
"I, along with my siblings, saw him before he entered the operating room and we all witnessed his high spirits and apparent strength and confidence that he can get through all these," Bong wrote.
The ex-senator said that he went back to the Philippine National Police (PNP) custodial center in Camp Crame, Quezon City, as he was only given four hours to visit his father.
"Despite my fervent wish to be with my father at this time, I am now going back to the Custodial Center considering that I am only given 4 hours by the court today. Please continue to pray for my father's successful operation and fast recovery. Thank you very much for all your support."
The former senator has been detained at the PNP Custodial Center since June 2014. He is facing plunder charges following his alleged involvement in the multi-million peso pork barrel scam.
The Sandiganbayan allowed Bong to go out of jail and visit his ailing father on June 19, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, and on the following day, June 20, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
As of this posting, Bong announced that his father’s surgery was a success and requested everyone to continue praying for the latter's fast recovery. (SunStar Philippines)
