SONGWRITER Willy Cruz passed away on Monday, April 17.
According to reports, the renowned Filipino composer suffered a stroke last week and was in comatose before he died.
He was 70 years old.
Cruz, one of the seasoned songwriters in the country, worked with the biggest and brightest names in show business, such as Pilita Corales, Nonoy Zuniga, Haji Alejandro, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Sharon Cuneta and Superstar Nora Aunor.
He is behind hit songs "Pangarap Na Bituin," "Araw-araw, Gabi-gabi," "May Minamahal," "Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas," "Bituing Walang Ningning" and "Sana Maulit Muli," among others.
Singer Lea Salonga, Ogie Alcasid, Jim Paredes and Jed Madela sent their condolences and commemorate the songwriter on their respective social media accounts.
Rest in God's loving arms, Willy Cruz. You have left such a legacy of amazing music to remember you by.
