Manila, August 2017 – Leading telecommunications and digital services provider PLDT together with global technology leader, Cisco, unveiled the first Spark Board in the Philippines, Cisco’s award-winning all-in-one collaboration device. The Cisco Spark Board provides the latest tools and capabilities to enhance team communication and collaboration within the workplace. It has the ability to combine wireless presentation, digital whiteboarding, and video conferencing all at a touch of a finger, as it seamlessly integrates into Spark, Cisco’s secure and powerful cloud collaboration platform.
The Cisco Spark Board is an elegantly designed device that looks like a big tablet computer and comes in 55” or 70” screen options. Each unit is powered with a 4K camera and 12-microphone array that utilizes VoiceTrack technology to locate and allow focus on the person who is speaking during video conferences. The sleek design aims to cut the clutter within conference rooms, as the all-in-one configuration can replace video screens, whiteboards, phones, cameras, projectors, microphones, and eliminate the need for cables required to interconnect each of these.
Paul Peterson, Cisco’s Head of Telepresence and Video Sales of APJC, flew in to showcase the first Cisco Spark Board in the Philippines, as it was revealed before the Media and Enterprise customers during the 2017 Philippine Digital Convention last June15th at the Marriott Grand Ballroom Hotel.
During the unveiling ceremony, Eric Alberto, ePLDT President and PLDT Group CRO, along with senior PLDT Enterprise leaders led by PLDT Enterprise SVP and Head Jovy Hernandez, ePLDT Group COO Nerisse Ramos, Joseph Ian Gendrano, VP for Core Business Solutions and Enrique Rodriguez, Cisco’s Country Manager, demonstrated the power of this immersive solution, allowing the media and other guests to witness and experience its rich features like sharing presentations, documents, collaborative whiteboarding and multi-party video conferencing, all in stunning 4K Ultra High Definition resolution. PLDT Product Manager Luigi Santiago also demonstrated how the Spark Board integrates seamlessly with the Cisco Spark app installed in mobile phones. With this, team members both in the physical conference room and attending remotely can meet, message, call, and access the white board from anywhere through their Cisco Spark app-enabled device of choice.
PLDT Enterprise VP & Head Core Business Solutions, Jojo Gendrano stated the significance of introduction of this technology breakthrough to Philippine enterprises: “The emergence of smart devices coupled with the rise of Bring-Your-Own-Device policies, Enterprise Social Networking and the Internet of Things, levels of workplace interaction have profoundly elevated. The Cisco Spark Board brings a quantum leap to enterprise collaboration, increasing productivity and efficiency across all levels in the organization.”
“The importance of collaboration in the workplace today is more evident than ever, and PLDT recognizes the need for the right innovations to further improve this process,” states Jovy Hernandez, SVP & Head of PLDT Enterprise. “Through this new technology brought in partnership with Cisco, we are empowering our clients to promote easier and more productive collaborations within their businesses.”
