THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) regional office, supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zussamenarbeit (Giz), will spearhead a two-day forum for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Western Visayas on September 6-7 to highlight the gains of the Promotion of Green Economic Development (Proged) Project before it finally culminates in December 2016.
DTI Regional Director Rebecca Rascon said the forum to be held at Hotel del Rio in Iloilo city will be graced by DTI Undersecretary for Regional Operations Group (ROG) Zenaida Maglaya and Giz Proged Project Manager Doctor Volker Steiugerwald in a move to inspire the MSMEs to support and sustain the implementation of the initiatives beyond Proged.
DTI Information Officer David Sinay said the forum entitled “Accelerating the Promotion of Green Economic Development” will likewise be a venue for MSMEs to share their stories and the positive results of adopting green initiatives in their businesses.
Technical sessions and discussions will be held on green practices especially along the key environmental hotspots namely energy, water, solid waste, natural resource, pollution, transport, and material consumption. (LCP/Sunnex)
