THE Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School (Dranhs) girls’ team eyes a better finish when they represent Region 11 for the second time in the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas 3x3 Under-15 National Finals set on October 26 in Manila.
The 2015 3x3 champions regained their title after posting a 16-13 upset victory over defending champion Assumption College of Davao (ACD) who beat them in 2016.
Dranhs coach Ronnie Berato will lean on the services of Aleah Kaye Clapano, Mecca Gumapac, Mary Grace Sarmiento and Rea Ong.
Berato said they aim to improve their sixth finish in the National Finals two years ago.
"We consider our loss to ACD last year (in the regional finals) a motivation to do better. It was a lesson learned," Berato said, adding that they will play each game like a championship round in the national finals.
He also said that they started their rigid training since winning their recent regional title.
"Every after training namin ng five on five, nagbibigay kami ng time (we give time) around 30 to 40 minutes for our 3x3 system," Berato said.
The team continues to train for their Manila stint.
"Nakikita ko sa mga bata yung desire and potential though wala kaming gaano facilities (I see the desire and potential in the children though we don't have much facilities)," the proud coach said.
After their Manila trip, Dranhs will represent Unit 3 in the Davao City Athletic Association Meet 2017 next month.
