Over 300 contingents in Parada Dabawenyo

MORE than 300 contingents have already expressed interest to join the Parada Dabawenyo, an official said.

Davao City Human Resource and Management Office head Erwin Alparaque said that as of Tuesday, March 13, 2017, 362 contingents were already on the list for the Araw ng Dabaw socio-civic parade set on March 16, 2018.

He said that the number could still increase because they cannot deny others the privilege of joining the parade.

He said that the parade will start from 6 a.m. to 12 noon.

"Since it is a socio-civic parade, every one of the Dabawenyos are welcome to participate," he said.

He added that they advised to limit the number of walking contingents to 50 participants per group.

Alparaque said that the parade coordinators of groups who will bring bicycles and motorcycles, private companies, non-government organizations, schools, fraternities, sorrorities, even Armed Forces of the Philippines and other members of the security agencies, non-government, and government organizations also underwent beiring last Tuesday at Davao City Hall training Hall.

"We had a briefing with the parade coordinators and marshals, all have been discussed. We have also finalized the order of the parade and have distributed it to the parade coordination and marshals," he said.

He added that the parade will start at Roxas Avenue. Those who are first on the parade order were advised to come early on that day. (KVC)
