THE Davao City Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) reported it has released around P51 million of the collective negotiation agreement (CNA) incentives for the plantilla workers of the Davao City Hall, an official said.
Of the P63,550,000 budget for the CNA incentives, a total of P51 million was released to 2,106 of the 2,633 regular workers of City Hall.
"Since last week, around 80 percent have received their incentives already," HRMO head Erwin Alparaque said in an interview with SunStar Davao Monday, March 20.
Alparaque said each employee will receive an amount of P25,000.
He said aside from the CNA incentive, plantilla workers will also be afforded P5,000 worth of anniversary bonus given every after five years.
"Every fifth year of the Araw ng Dabaw celebration, the city government hands out an anniversary bonus. The last time, only P3,000 was allocated per plantilla worker but Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio increased it to P5,000 this year so they will receive a total of P30,000," he said.
When asked where the funds are sourced, Alparaque said the CNA incentives come from the maintenance and operating expenses dated January to October 2016.
"May savings naman tayo (We have savings) because of the cross-cutting measures we implemented. Under the law and budget circular, tatlo lang kasi ang pwede kunan ng source (there are only three sources) for the CNA incentives. So aside from the three, we need to have the savings," he said.
Included in the distribution last week was the P20,032,000 for the year-end gratuity pay of 10,016 job orders and contract service personnel of the city.
Each worker is entitled to receive P2,000 under the Administrative Order 2 series of 2017 signed by President Rodrigo Duterte last January.
The CNA, which started four years ago, has a lifespan of three years.
Davao City Council will again release the next round of the CNA incentives in 2019.
