DORMAKABA and Fenestram are the only teams that remain unbeaten in the Architects+Engineers Basketball Club Corporate Cup 2018 following last weekend’s action in the University of San Carlos (USC) Main Gym.
Last year’s Corporate Cup runner-up Dormakaba outclassed Island Paints, 86-59.
Jonas Panerio led Dormakaba with 20 points, five rebounds and a steal. Ed Macasling added 18 points along with five assists and three steals, while Poi Magno had 16 markers, three boards, three steals and a block.Jasper Tang logged 18 points, six rebounds and two blocks for Island Paints.
Fenestram, in the meantime, squeaked past Davies Paints, 75-72.
Ian Paculba spearheaded Fenestram’s offense with 24 points and also grabbed six rebounds and had two steals. Niel Bacus added 13 points along with seven boards, three steals and a block.
Michael Cinco led Davies Paints with 24 points, four rebounds, four assists and a steal. Paul Besinga chipped in 15 points and two steals.
After losing its opener, defending champion SEA Olympus bounced back with a 75-68 victory over East Grand.
Brian Acebedo scored 15 points along with four rebounds and two steals for SEA Olympus, while Justin Aspacio also added 15.
Joshua Gayotin had 17 points, three boards and two blocks for East Grand, while Albert Pazon chipped in 14 points.
Phoenix didn’t break a single sweat with a default win over Rain or Shine.
Dormakaba and Fenestram are both at the top of the table with identical 2-0 slates. SEA Olympus, Phoenix, Davies Paints and Island Paintsle East Grand have similar 1-1 records. (EKA)
