ONE of Cebu Country Club’s (CCC) ace shotmakers, Bayani Garcia, flexed his muscles in the club’s Monthly Medal Tournament for February, days before the PAL Interclub.
Garcia shot a one-over-par 73 and snatched the overall lowest gross award in the monthly golf tilt at the CCC’s layout in Banilad, Cebu City last Saturday.
Garcia, a regular fixture at the PAL Interclub, flashed a 36-37 card for a 73 and beat Peter Tyler Po in a countback for the overall lowest gross title.
Garcia will be at the PAL Interclub in Bacolod on March 5 to 11 with teammates Po, Marko Sarmiento, Gio Gandionco, Eric Deen, Harvey Sytiongsa, Marc Gonzalez, Mark Dy, Martin Mendoza, Jufil Sato and alternate Jj Alvarez.
Gandionco, a 10-handicapper, conquered the Class A division with a net 65, beating Kim Jae Eun by two points. Nino Bascon scored 68 for third place.
Ricky Brown scored 67 and beat Jonji Chiongbian in a countback for the Class B crown. Yoshiro Tareda scored 70 for third place.
Joji Tatara, meanwhile, ruled Class C after scoring 65. Antonio Sikimhua had 67 and outlasted Gerry Gollon in a countback for second place.
Danilo Lua dominated Class D with 66. Naotsugu Isobe and Patricio Go both scored 75 for second and third places, respectively.
In the seniors’ division, Robin Craze scored 67, beating Mariano Martinez in a countback for the title. Steve Thompson was third with 71.
In the ladies division, Crystal Faith Neri scored 71 and beat Oh Soo Jin by two points. (RSC)
