Drug bust in Lapu yields P590,000 in shabu

AN alleged cohort of a drug personality was caught in a drug bust in Barangay Poblacion, Lapu-Lapu City at 5 p.m. last Wednesday.

The arrest of Mildred Dacullo Palmero was carried out by operatives of the Consolacion Police Station led by their chief, Supt. Mina Domingo.

Domingo said that the operation against Palmero followed after their arrest of suspected pusher Michella Almodiel Mancio, who admitted that her source of illegal drugs was Palmero’s cohort Joye Cabahug.

Cabahug, a resident of Compostela, was not caught after he deployed Palmero to transact with the poseur-buyer.

Operatives seized 50 grams of suspected shabu valued at P590,000.

Operatives of Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Lapu-Lapu City Police Station 3 were also part of the operation.

Cabahug, who is still at large, will be included in the charges along with Mancio and Palmero for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Selling illegal drugs is a non-bailable offense. (KAL)
