Man stabbed by brother-in-law in San Fernando, Cebu

A MAN died after he was stabbed by his brother-in-law past 5 p.m. Thursday, May 18, in Sitio Crossing, Barangay Balud, San Fernando, Cebu.

The victim was identified as William Angga, 37, while the suspect was Nizalde Plarizan Jr., 37, the victim’s brother-in-law.

Angga, whose wife, Mabeth Plarizan Angga, was beaten by Plarizan, tried to stop his brother-in-law.

Plarizan pulled a knife and stabbed Angga in the left portion of his stomach and fled the neighborhood.

San Fernando's ambulance rushed the victim to the Cebu Provincial Hospital in Carcar City, but he failed to reach the hospital alive.

Investigation showed Mabeth reportedly irked Plarizan, after she sent her older brother a text message about his live-in partner's lesbian lover.

Plarizan, who did not believe her, confronted Mabeth. They argued and Plarizan punched her in the face. A flurry of blows followed. Mabeth screamed and Angga intervened, resulting in his death. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
