4 men nabbed in separate drug busts in Cebu

FOUR men were arrested in separate drug busts on Thursday, May 18, in the cities of Naga and Cebu, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported.

PDEA-Central Visayas said two drug suspects were apprehended around 7:30 a.m. in Sitio Palanas, Barangay Inayagan, Naga City.

The suspects were identified as Jason Pepito, 23, and Nel Lipogpog, 26, both yielded three packs of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu,” that weighed 58 grams with an estimated market value of P122,000.

On the same day, authorities caught two drug personalities around 5:40 p.m. in A. Lopez Street, Barangay Calamba, Cebu City.

Arrested were Renel Borda, 21, and Ed John Bequilla, 20. The main target of the operation, identified as Jen-Jen Baldesamo, escaped.

Seized from the suspects were 20 grams of shabu worth P28,000.

The four arrested suspects will be charged with violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (SunStar Cebu)
