Costanilla: Support Bisdak romcom

Sam Costanilla

SUPPORT. We Visayans should support the ongoing screening of a locally produced romantic-comedy titled “Magbuwag Ta Kay...” by watching it in cinemas. The indie production has Rowell Ucat and Akiko Solon as the lead stars and both truly gave justice to their respective roles. I hope that this romcom would pave the way for the eventual revival of the Visayan movie industry.

STARS. I should acknowledge those that appeared in the latest staging of the play “Gamugamo sa Kanto ng East Avenue” that I personally watched recently at the Monterey School Inc. in San Isidro, Talisay City. The play was directed by Alex Agustin and Barbara Clemente. The stars were Christian Bulan, Weyn Bozs Reyes, Krystal Gonzales, Cherry Dienla, Christian Troy Pepito, Shawn Canin, Chivan Rey Cantalejo and Mile Caster Daan. All of them gave very natural yet convincing acting.

CO-HOST. I had the rare honor and privilege of co-hosting with the witty Fr. Dan de los Angeles the 2nd Awiteofilo nationwide songwriting festival recently in Valladolid, Carcar City. Inspirational Diva Jamie Rivera, the Cebu Clergy Performing Artists and Fr. Jonas Mejares were the guest entertainers. The contest highlighted the 104th birthday of Archbishop Teofilo Camomot.

WINNER. All participating composers submitted beautifully written entries but it was Emmanuel Abellana’s song that was picked as the grand winning composition. He went home P100,000 richer.

CHEERS. Let me greet Heritage Productions big bosses Charles and Sunshine Lim as they marked yesterday, Sunday, their 15th wedding anniversary.
