Maring shuts down PH markets

THE stormy weather led the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas to shut down clearing operations yesterday.

As Tropical Depression Maring caused heavy flooding in parts of Luzon, the Philippine Stock Exchange and Philippine Dealing System, which released separate advisories, suspended trading while clearing and settlement operations at the Securities Clearing Corporation of the Philippines were likewise suspended.

After MalacaƱang declared government offices will be closed, the BSP announced the suspension of clearing operations. (MEA)
