MISAMIS Oriental General Comprehensive High School (MOGCHS) barged into the semifinal round of the 2nd CDO Inter-Public School Basketball Tournament.

This, after nipping Cugman National High School via overtime play, 76-75 on Sunday’s secondary boys tussle at West City Central School covered courts here.

Cervin Caingin erupted for 34 points to lead the Cavaliers in securing the first seat in the semifinal round.

It was a breathtaking escape for the Cavaliers of coach Jayson Cagmat who trailed Cugman by one, 65-67 in the dying seconds of the fourth and final quarter.

A basket by Alwin Dagpin, however, leveled the score at 67-all at the end of the regulation period.

The Cugman Scorpions of coach Mark Jacutin lost steam in overtime, falling by two, 74-76 and Richie Carnalna missed one of his two freethrows with time ticking away.

In the 15-under boys, Brad Cany delivered 20 points as the Tablon National High School Junior Archers dumped Indahag National High School Baby Skyhawks, 58-49.

In secondary girls, the Bulua National High School Lady Claymasters subdued Carmen National High School Lady Thunders, 49-24.

The Pagatpat Elementary School Spartans, meanwhile, outclassed South City Central School Southern Stars, 40-35 in the elementary boys division.
