AROUND P3.3 million worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu were seized in separate drug operations by police and the anti-narcotics agency Sunday night, March 19.
Police operatives raided the house of a drug suspect at Villa Candida, Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City that resulted to the arrest of 29 year-old Nobaisa Tanggo known as "Nova."
Authorities confiscated some 210 grams of shabu valued at around P1.5 million.
Senior Inspector Maricris Mulat, police station 1 chief, said "Nova" belongs to the most wanted drug personalities of the police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Northern Mindanao (PDEA-10).
Mulat added the suspect was a high value target considering her networks and sub-groups in the illegal drug trade.
The police station chief said further that the family of the suspect are also linked to illegal drug activities.
"Iyang bana ug ugangan napriso tungod sa droga. Iyang igsoon na-link pud sa droga. Namalhin sila sa Candida after gi-demolish ilang balay sa barangay 24 (Her husband and father-in-law are in prison because of drugs. Her brother was linked to drugs. They transferred to Candida after their house in barangay 24 was demolished)," Mulat said.
Mulat said the suspect's source of income comes solely from illegal drugs.
The police are also verifying the information revealed by the suspect regarding her supplier and her market of illegal drugs.
Meanwhile, the anti-narcotics agency arrested another six drug personalities at Vines Inn in Yacapin Extension and subsequently dismantled a drug den maintained by drug suspect Zubair Pampa.
PDEA-10 operatives also arrested Mohaimen Pampa, 18; Najola Minalang, 18; Khaleem Macatangcop, all residents of Marawi City, Lanao del Sur; and Jaffar Naga, 19; and Mirafin Jun Libot, 21, both residents of the city.
Authorities seized 9 sachets of shabu weighing 241 grams and valued at around P1.8 million.
PDEA-10 agent Ben Calibre said suspects occupied the hotel room for several days as a drug den since illegal drug activities were administered inside.
Calibre said the suspects led by Pampa have been supplying shabu to street level drug pushers.
The suspects also disclosed that their source came from Lanao del Sur.
All suspects will face charges on violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).
