EVERY September, October, November, December, I always joyously wait for Christmas’ and New Year’s Eve, surely, you also. Therefore, let us celebrate to the utmost the three remaining “ber” months as the longest, happiest of all, for our Almighty God has given them to us again.
Along the way, may we reflect on the major events that have impact on our lives for these are where we draw our inspiration and strength in pursuing our life goal. And let the lesson that we learned from the difficulties that we have encountered as our guide in our life’s journey.
The good thing is that we, Filipinos, are able to feel better quickly after something unpleasant such as shock, injury, etc. occur and can withstand any challenge that confronts us. Thus, let us move on and look for potentials for one’s progress ahead.
I have observed that once the Christmas countdown starts everyday everywhere, especially on television, radio and malls, yearning rises despite a stagnant income and pending release of bonus with some of us. This has always been everyone’s traditional sentiment and attitude.
As always, we are preparing to celebrate Christmas’ and New Year’s Eve with families and loved ones. Then, of course, we enjoy receiving all the colorfully wrapped Christmas boxes given to us. Also, here are the gifts to last us a lifetime. In fact, there are more waiting to be claimed from the “Bank of Life,” the Bible: material and spiritual provisions, material and spiritual abundance, joy, hope, faith, protection, strength, courage, wisdom, guidance and counsel, success, freedom, healing, love, 24/7 unli cellphone connection to God, security in old age, justice, peace and rest.
Jesus Christ, our Savior, has invited everyone: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30). The Bible acronym stands for basic instruction before leaving earth; it is all we need to know to live a victorious life.
Whatever good thing one wishes and so fervently pray in this longest, happiest months of all, I cling on in high hope, I suppose you also, that our Merciful God will so graciously grant them to us all the time.
