SENATOR Juan Edgardo Angara will be speaking in the three-day 12th Mindanao Geographical Conference of the Philippine Association of Local Government Accountants (PHALGA), a gathering of some 3,000 accountants in Mindanao, set to begin today until Friday, February 23, in the city.
Provincial Accountant Marilou Rivera said Angara, along with television host Miriam Quiambao and Governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano, will be among the resource speakers of the event.
With the theme, "LGU Fiscal Managers: Responsible Stewards of Public Resources”, the conference will be participated not only by government accountants but also by accounting staff, Local Finance Committees, barangay officials with the an aim of enhancing their fiscal knowledge.
Topics will feature Best Practices of Misamis Oriental in terms of Fiscal responsibilities while Quiambao will discuss on Personal Development.
"This event will serve as a great venue to promote and showcase Misamis Oriental in terms of good governance, ethics in public service, and most especially to promote our tourism to all Mindanaoans and to other parts of the country making our province a trust worthy local government unit under the leadership of our good governor," Rivera said.
