SIX illegal gun holders, including a retired marine officer, in Cordillera were nabbed by authorities over the week, seizing several unlicensed firearms and ammunitions.
Peter Blanza Lanas, 53, retired Philippine Marines officer, was arrested at Barangay Dumayco, Peñarrubia in Abra.
Police confiscated one Deawoo cal. 9mm and one magazine for cal .9mm loaded with 10 ammunition.
Felipe Mallonga Caddumlay was arrested in his residence at Calanan village, Tabuk City in Kalinga after a firearm and several ammunitions were seized inside his home in the early morning of July 11.
Seized from Caddumlay’s possession were one cal. 38 w/ defaced serial number, 6 ammunition for cal. 38, one ammunition for cal.45 and one holster for cal .45.
Also arrested the same day is Viernes Singlao Garcia, 42, collector, and a resident of Purok 6, Irisan, Baguio City was nabbed inside Dartsbill Restaurant Darts and Billiards in Baguio City.
Authorities confiscated items from the suspect are one 9mm caliber Norinco with inserted one magazine containing eight ammunitions.
Florentino Awuigi Anical, 22, caretaker of Bade’s Farm and a resident of Barangay Manaois, Lagayan, Abra was arrested at Bade’s Farm in Barangay Mudiit, Dolores after he was reported pointing a gun to a minor.
Operatives recovered a caliber.38 Colt Revolver without serial number.
Two more others were confiscated in Abra through a search warrant.
Michael Benebese Ballena, 34, farmer was nabbed at Barangay Basbasa, Tayum as authorities confiscated one cal. 22 revolver without markings loaded with four ammunition.
Michael Palcon Sarmiento was arrested in his residence at Barangay Tabiog, Bucay, where seized were one rifle Caliber 22, one Colt Caliber .45, M1911A1 US Army, one rifle case, one magazine for Caliber .45, seven ammunition for caliber .45, nine ammunition for Caliber .22 and one pouch aficionado.
