THE BAGUIO government has picked the event organizer that will handle the Miss Baguio 2015 pageant.
Sonny Productions won the bid over fellow bidders Liminiscence Events and Productions and Yayi’s Events Marketing.
The fourth bidder, Black Prestige Talent Society Incorporated, was not able to meet the July 1 deadline for the submission of requirements.
The Miss Baguio Pageant is part of the celebration of the 106th Baguio Foundation Day.
Mayor Mauricio Domogan said preparations for the pageant should be made early “to avoid any controversy.”
“The board of judges for the pageant should be furnished a copy of the pageant rules to avoid a repeat of the incident in the 2014 Miss Baguio,” he said.
Domogan was referring to the incident last year when one of the judges posted critical remarks about her fellow judges on social media.
“We do not want a repeat of that incident and we should ensure that all the judges for the pageant come on time,” he said.
This year’s Miss Baguio will receive a cash prize of P50,000. Miss Tourism will win P35,000; Miss Liga ng mga Barangay P30,000.
The Miss Baguio first runner will receive P20,000 cash prize and the 3rd runner P10,000.
Coronation night is on August 29 at the Baguio Convention Center. (Paul Rillorta)
