CHIEF Inspector Edfel Balibadlan was relieved from his post as chief of Isabela Municipal Police Station in Negros Occidental effective July 12.
Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil Jr., acting director of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, said in a text message on Sunday, July 16, that Balibadlan was replaced by Chief Inspector Ruben Pajarito.
Chief Inspector Gary Alan Resuma took over Pajarito’s post as chief of Cauayan Municipal Police Station.
Balibadlan’s relief came after Chief Superintendent Edmund Gonzales, acting director of Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region approved the recommendation of Isabela Mayor Joselito Malabor.
Gonzales said Sunday that he personally informed Malabor about his decision on his recommendation.
On Malabor’s request for additional police personnel, Gonzales said it is not possible for now due to insufficiency of personnel.
“Other police stations also lack personnel so we have to wait,” he added.
Malabor, in his June 5 letter to Gonzales, asked for additional five police officers to augment the current strength of the town police.
“If there is a need for additional personnel in case of emergency, the region can just provide them with augmentation forces from other units,” Gonzales said.
