A BACOLOD City councilor said 1,200 scholars under the “Cano Gwapo Tan May Trabaho Para sa Tanan” in partnership with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) will start training in different schools starting on Monday, June 19.
City Councilor Ricardo Tan, in an orientation conducted at the Tay Tung High School Gym on Sunday, June 18, said the group is one of the biggest batches approved by Tesda in the Visayas.
“This is the first batch of trainees under my program. This is free because I believe that education and training is the key to development. This is surely a stepping stone for employment,” he said.
Tan, chairman of the City Council committee on livelihood and cooperatives, said those who will complete the training will undergo examinations and will be issued certificates by the Tesda that they can use when applying for jobs locally and abroad.
During the orientation on Sunday, the scholars were introduced to the service providers where they will undergo trainings.
